Hey my little Brushaflies and welcome back to my blog, Brushafly Mua 🦋 Today’s blog post is about the Dr. Hauschka revitalising day lotion. I was sent this free to try in PR and today I am going to give my honest opinion on this product.
So I was quite excited to try this product because on its leaflet it sounded amazing, apparently it does all of these things:
- Powered by flowers
- 100% natural
- Certified organic
- Lightweight and fast absorbing
- Helps to balance skin
- Keeps it hydrated and naturally protected
- Relaxes the skin
- Cares and protects all day long
- Promotes a radiant complexion
- Formulated with apricot
So as you can see it claims a lot, which is great. But even if something claims it can do a lot, I still go by feeling, texture, how it works on my skin and smell as to whether I like it or not, and in my honest opinion, this is not for me.
The texture of the lotion is quite watery, and I do have to add this is a lotion not a cream, so it does have a lotion feel to it, which I’m not a fan of. I have super dry, dehydrated skin, so for me I need a thicker cream to give my skin the hydration it needs, I find a lotion just isn’t man enough for my skin. If you have more normal to oily skin this might suit you a bit better. It does feel quite oily like when first applied but like it says it does absorb quickly thus for me the hydration is gone and when I apply my makeup on top, it has no real hydrated base because its all been absorbed. The absorption process might be good for others with like I said, normal to oily skin because it doesn’t hang around and might not leave you feeling as oily. It also didn’t let my makeup sit properly on top of it, I found my daily foundation and concealer caked more and looked very dry and patchy in places. So that for me is already a big no no!!! Then there is the smell!!! I don’t like to be mean to brands that have sent me PR, especially because its so nice they sent me it to try, but this on me honestly smelt like cat piss! Now it could just be that my own natural skin oils don’t agree with the lotion and cause it to smell a little off, I mean I can’t wear some perfumes because of this so??? But either way I didn’t like the smell and it hung around like a literal bad smell. In the packet it smells lemony with maybe a hint of apricot and slightly fresh but as soon as it hit my skin it just smelt rank.
Overall I have to say I’m not keen on this product, it might be nice for others, but for me it just wasn’t right and didn’t suit my needs. I do want to say thanks to Dr. Hauschka for the freebie to try, but I always give my honest opinion on products whether I buy it or I’m sent it.
So there you have it, my review on the Dr. Hauschka revitalising day lotion. Do feel free to comment if you have tried this and what you think! Did you like it? How did it smell to you?
